‘Stop work’ action by young worker

The Cordial Factory has been rocked today with industrial action by one of its ‘apprentices’.  The youngest worker on the site has declared that conditions are unacceptable and no further work will be done until a new agreement is reached.  Management were left reeling this morning when they heard of the new demands – including two 30 minute ‘entertainment’ breaks (9:30am and 3:00pm).  The young worker, when questioned, denied that the breaks had anything to do with an ABC television show for pre-schoolers.

Tools down, stop work!

  1. Management may want to reflect on the fact that Australia is a signatory to the Conventions on Child Labour! I’d say some Playschool or Chuggington viewing is a small price to pay. I’m sure the next in age apprentice may soon be negotiating for Lego based wages!

  2. I have some experience negotiating work conditions. I am happy to offer my services, free of charge, to those young workers to make sure they are not being taken advantage of! Boys, you know where to find me.
